Ann (Driscoll) Kirkman, 68, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne. Born September 2, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, IA, she was the daughter of Roy William Driscoll and Icel (Tiernan) Driscoll.
She was raised Catholic and had worked in the cafeteria at the Des Moines General Hospital. While working at Babes Restaurant in Des Moines, she met Gerald Kirkman and fell instantly in love. A week later the two were married on May 4, 1970. She and Gerald would leave Iowa in June of 2002 and move to Columbia City, Indiana to be closer to his sister and brother-in-law. Ann enjoyed watching wrestling with her family, collecting Beanie Babies, playing bingo and going out and eat.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Kirkman; sister, Mary (Larry) Lutz of Iowa; sister-in-law, Beverly (Richard) Kohne of Columbia City; brother-in-law, Paul Kantack of Mississippi; four nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Icel Driscoll; sister, Catherine Kantack; and brother-in-law, Gary Kirkman.
Local visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place next Saturday, February 20, 2016 in Iowa . She will be laid to rest by her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery in Keystone, Iowa.
