Patty J. Kessie, 62, of Fort Wayne, and formerly of Columbia City, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital. Born July 29, 1954 in Whitley County, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Annabelle (Conner) Kessie.
She was born and raised in Columbia City and lived in various states before returning in 2003. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1972 and attended Ivy Tech. She had been a cook at many local nursing homes and hospitals and worked at various factories and Petro Fueling Stations. She was a member of the Moose Lady Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and past 4-H Leader.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Hardin, of Plainfield and Shawn (Jen) Hardin, of Pittsburg, Pa.; daughter, Paige Hamilton, of Gas City; and sister, Mary (David) Geisleman, of Columbia City. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Olin Kessie; and two infant sisters.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Funeral Celebrant, Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery.
