Virgil Lewis Ferrell, age 72, of New Haven, IN formerly of Columbia City passed away at 5:05 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at New Haven Care, New Haven.  Born September 12, 1940 in Columbia City, he was the son of Wilbert L. and Henrietta (Boschet) Ferrell.

He attended Columbia City High School.  Virgil spent most of his life in Whitley and Allen County and was a dedicated employee of South Side Gardens, Fort Wayne for 24 years.

Virgil will be lovingly remembered by his sister Bessie (Erville “Duke”) Callison and many nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.  Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating.  Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Columbia City.  Memorial bequests may be given in memory of Virgil to the donor’s choice of charity.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Bessie, please accept my sympathy at the passing of your brother. I don't believe I ever met him, but your Mom spoke of him often...sending hugs and prayers to you at this time, Pat
