Dennis Wayne Palmer, age 56, of South Whitley, IN, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City. Born October 16, 1956 in Columbia City, he was the son of Neil Burwell and Patty Ann (Hoffman) Palmer.
A lifetime resident of Whitley County, he graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1976. On December 12, 2012, he married Christine Lynn Bowman in Larwill. He previously worked for Churubusco Elevator, Raber Elevator, Reelcraft and Indian Springs School as a part-time janitor. Since 2007 he has been employed at C & A Tool as a machine operator.
Survivors include his wife, Christine L. Palmer of South Whitley; 3 daughters, Monica M. (Greg) Green, Brandy K. Palmer and Callie M. (Michael) Braun all of Columbia City; son, Corey L. Cremeens-Palmer of Fort Wayne; mother, Patty Ann Starkey of Columbia City; father, Neil B. (Marcella) Palmer of Centennial, CO; 8 grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters, Jeffrey L. (Anna) Starkey and David A. (Laura) Starkey both of Columbia City, Gregory L. (Kristine) Starkey of Fairbanks, AK, Michelle R. (Jim) Cull of Westfield and Neil "Butch" (Nikkole) Palmer of Colorado and Christine (Lance) Sherwood, Colorado; step-daughters, Kathleen A. Romanowski of DeBary, FL, Andrea E. Tennant and Emily M. Tennant both of North Webster. He is preceded in death by his step-father, David L. Starkey.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Beck of Larwill Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will follow at South Whitley Cemetery, South Whitley. Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Palmer's memory to Whitley County 4-H. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

My heart Broke when My Brother Ron Crawford told me the sad News this a.m. I am so sorry and you and your Family Have my deepest Sympathy. Dennie was such an ornery Guy But with a Big heart. Always made me smile and laugh We went to school together at CCJHS and Coesse. He also became wonderful Friends with my Brother Ron who also worked at C&A Tool. God Blessed us with Dennie and I Have you all in my prayers and thoughts.

Just wanted to say what a super nice guy Denny was. He would do anything to help someone and taught my girls so much about sheep in just a few months. Also was one of the first to send his sympathy when I lost my Mother last fall. We lost a real special one that wont be forgotten. I hope that everyone in the family can have peace knowing he touched our whole family

So very very sorry to hear of Denny's sudden passing. While I am only acquainted with Brandy, my heart goes out to all of his family, children and wife, as well as the many others who loved him.
Denny always had an enormous laugh and smile, and I will always hold dear in my heart he and Val's generosity with my family.
