Joyce Johnson

Joyce Elaine Johnson, 91, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Miller's at Oak Pointe. Born July 5, 1932 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Harold and C. Fern (Coolman) Lundblad.

She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1950. On August 25, 1951, she married Curtiss M. Johnson in the parsonage of the First Church of God by Pastor Alvin Link. Joyce had been a housewife and mother. She was a member of West Etna Community Church and had been a member of Community Bible Church in Columbia City, where her husband had served as the Pastor for many years.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Pastor Curt Johnson; daughter, Darby (Mike) Davis; grandchildren, Matt (Dawn) Harding, John (Tara) Harding, Terra (Adam) Sellers, Sarah (Mark Grossman) Bartz, Heather Davis and Pam (Brad) Rice; and 13 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Keith Lundblad and Phil Lundblad and sister, Anita  Grumpp.

Visitation will be 1 to 4 pm Sunday, January 14, 2024 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor David Wagner and Pastor Curt Johnson officiating. A private burial will take place at Stough Cemetery following her funeral.
