Betty Treece-Green

Betty H. Treece-Green, 94, of Columbia City, passed away Wednesday morning, March 10, 2021 at Miller's at Oak Point. Born January 9, 1927 in Allen County, she was the daughter of Paul C. and Sarah (Steel) Reimer.

She attended Arcola High School. After a brief marriage to Donald Rhoades, Betty married Roger Treece on December 30, 1963. They were married for 40 years prior to his passing. Betty worked J.I. Case for 3 years and for 26 years with Magnavox, retiring in 1989. She then worked at Hobby Lobby for a few years. On December 11, 2010, Betty married Russell H. Green in Churubusco and they went on to attend church at New Hope Wesleyan Church. Betty was loving, enjoyed having fun, liked being on the move to visit her family and friends, and socializing with others. Being a people person, she never knew a stranger and never wanted to be late.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Green; daughter, Kathy (David) Steiss; grandchildren, Andrew DeWitt and Mitchell DeWitt; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Logan; brothers, Brice (Shirley) Reimer and Delmar Reimer, sisters, Patricia Hartman and Judith Thompson; three step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by brothers, H. Frederick Reimer, Paul Reimer Jr, Richard Reimer, Franklin Reimer, Robert Reimer, Louis Reimer, Price Reimer and an infant brother, Larry Reimer.

Visitation will be 1 to 4 pm Sunday, March 14, 2021 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Mueller officiating. It may be watched live on Facebook through DeMoney Grimes Live. Burial will take place at Eberhard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Eberhard Lutheran Church.
