Dianna Lawson

January 9, 1950 — January 11, 2023

Dianna Lawson, 73, of Columbia City, Ind., previously Logansport, passed away peacefully on January 11th, surrounded by her family.

Born January 9, 1950, in Linton, Ind., she was the daughter of William E. and Nancy (Openshaw) Stahl.

Dianna attended Switz City High School where she was a cheerleader, member of the school band, and Salutatorian of the Class of 1968. She attended Lincoln Christian College, transferring to Saint Anthony's Nursing School in Terre Haute, where she met Greg E. Lawson, a student at Indiana State University. They married on June 9, 1973, and lived in the Monticello/Buffalo area before moving to Logansport and then Columbia City in 2021.

Dianna was a nurse by trade but a caregiver by heart. Her nursing career spanned over forty years including Logansport Memorial Hospital, West Central School Corporation as a school nurse, Chase Center as Assistant Director of Nursing, finishing her career as Director of Nursing at Monticello Health Care before retiring in 2014. As much as she loved nursing, Dianna often said the eight years she stayed home with her four young daughters were her happiest.

Dianna enjoyed sewing and baking for her family and reading in her quiet time. She was an active member of Baptist Christian Church in the Ladies Bible Study and volunteering with the Awana Club.

Left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 49 years, Greg Lawson; daughters, Teresa (Chad) White of Columbia City, Cyndi (Chris) McAtee of Noblesville, Rebecca (Nathan) Blume of Churubusco, and Amanda (Jeff) Bell of Carmel; grandchildren, Macy and Ben White, Natalie, Sophia, Claire, and Ethan Blume and Brynn and Cameron Bell; brothers, Steve (Jane) Stahl and Jim (Deb) Stahl; sister, Brenda (Mike) Barnard; sisters-in law Cheryl Williams, Susan (Tom) Puterbaugh, Sandy (Matt) Dillman and Christi (Randy) Lower; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents William and Nancy Stahl preceded her in death.
