Dorothy L. Smith

Dorothy L. Smith, 94, of Columbia City, passed away 10:37 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2020 at her home. Born October 31, 1925 in New Paris, she was the daughter of Chris and Dorothy Bernice (Ringler) Lehman.

She graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1943. On December 20, 1943, she married Milton Smith at the Nazarene Church in Columbia City. She was a member of First Church of God.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Douglas E. Smith; brother, Kenneth L. (Elsie) Lehman of Columbia City; sister, Mary (Esta) Martz of Ocala, FL and Linda (Gary) Craig of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Chris and Dorothy Lehman; son, Stephen Ray Smith; husband, Milton Smith; brothers, Harold R Lehman, Charles Eugene Lehman, Jack Lehman, Ralph Lehman and Larry Lehman; sisters, Betty Anderson, Marjorie Judd and Ruth Trumbrull.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery, Columbia City with Pastor Johnny McCallister and Mike McEvoy officiating.
