James R. Semler

James R. Semler, age 81, of Churubusco, IN, passed away at 4:05 pm on Thursday January 5, 2023, at his residence.  Born on June 28, 1941, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Paul and Marydell (McBride) Semler.

James attended local schools before becoming an independent contractor and carpet layer for over 30 years.

On April 7, 1994, James married Cindy Terman.

James enjoyed fishing, woodworking, shopping, traveling, reading science fiction books, and was an avid aquarium enthusiast with many pet fish.

Survivors include his wife Cindy Semler of Churubusco; children Randy Semler of Michigan City, IN, Eric Semler of Warsaw, Amy Semler of Montana, Andy (Stephanie) Banker and Darci (Eric Van Hoozen) Truman, both of Columbia City; several grandchildren; brother John Semler of Churubusco.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family service was held for James.

Memorial contributions in memory of James may be made to his final expenses.
