John L. Couch

John L. Couch, 73, of South Whitley, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at his home. Born February 27, 1947 in Harlan County, Kentucky, he was the son of  Ed and Sina (Cody) Couch.

He graduated from Cumberland High School and went on to attend college. He had been an LPN, owned and operated a construction company in Texas before moving to Indiana. John then worked for United Technologies and started his own computer business in the 90's.

John is survived by his son, Johnny Wayne Couch Sr.; five grandchildren, Briana Sue (Dylan) Marshall, Cody Johnny Wayne (Kodi) Couch, Brooke Irene Couch, Braylynn Johnna (Riley) Anderson and Johnny Wayne Couch Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Chase, Alley, Ethan, Lucille and Parker; and two brothers, James Couch and Carl (Kathy) Couch. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Mable Suzette Couch; sisters, Euna Mae Mitchell and Patsy Hoskins; brother, Felix Couch and beloved dog, Jake.

Due to the COVID restrictions, a private service for his immediate family and closest friends will be held at a later date. Arrangements with DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be toward his final expenses.
