Margie L. Kolkman, 82, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Parkview Whitley Hospital. Born November 10, 1938 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Donald and Bernice (Counsellor) Chivington.

She graduated from North Side HIgh School with the Class of 1957 and had attended Ivy Tech College. For over 30 years , she worked for Life Care Center in Fort Wayne and retired as a Medical Records Director. After the passing of her first husband, a high school friend reached out to her following his first wife's passing. Margie and Jerry Kolkman reunited and would go on to be married June 23, 2007.

Margie was a social lady who enjoyed being around her family and friends and attending church at Covenant of Peace in Fort Wayne. She loved the Lord, loved traveling and was into the history of the Spanish American War. She and Jerry were looking forward to one final trip together this year and visit the Bahamas.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Kolkman; brother, Kenneth Chivington; step-son, Lonnie (Dana) Kolkman; nephew, Kevin (Cindy) Chivington and niece, Dawn Chivington.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband , William Schlau; and two brothers, Donald Chivington, Daniel Chivington.

Visitation will be 11 to 12:45 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2021 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Don Mayes of Covenant of Peace officiating.She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
