Mary Jane Walker

Mary Jane Walker, 58, of Columbia City, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Millers Merry Manor Inc., Columbia City. Born May 16, 1959 in Columbia City, she was the daughter of Robert L. and Betty C. (Stoffer) Walker.

She was a lifetime resident of Whitley County. Graduating from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1977, she went on to receive her LPN from Ivy Tech College. She worked 11 years for Whitley County Memorial Hospital, eight years at Millers Merry Manor before retiring from The Oaks in November of 1994. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her brothers, Jeff (Wendy) Walker, of Columbia City and Bradley (Rhonda) Walker, of Scottsburg; three nieces; three nephews; and three great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with her funeral service starting at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gene Rohrer officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery Annex, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents. Memorial gifts may be given in her memory to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
