Michael T. Coronato, age 53, of Columbia City, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family, after a long battle with Lymphoma. Born August 25, 1970, in Queens, NY, he was the son of Peter Coronato and Rosemary (Ania) Coronato.
He graduated from Sachem High School North with the Class of 1989. On April 30, 1994, he married Ann Marie Cuccia. Michael was a welder/fabricator for 19 years. In 2011, Michael graduated with a maintenance degree from Ivy Tech Community College. Michael worked for the YMCA (Jorgensen) as a maintenance facility director. He was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and was actively involved in donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Michael was a fun-spirited soul. He was caring, hard-working, and loved sharing his faith with others. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, with his friends and family. Michael enjoyed sharing his passions with his children. Michael was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Michael is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Coronato; children, Gina Coronato, Gabriella Coronato, and Vincent Coronato; parents, Peter Coronato and Rosemary (Ania) Coronato; brothers, Louis Coronato, Anthony (Christine) Coronato, Andrew (Cherie) Coronato, Peter (Deborah) Coronato, and Kevin (Dawn) Coronato; brother-in-law, John (Melissa) Cuccia; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony and Mary Ania, Louis and Francis Coronato, Joseph and Angelina Cuccia, and Joseph and Angelina Camusci; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Josephine (Camusci) Cuccia.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with a Rosary Service at 11:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Arcola, 12305 Arcola Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Burial will take place at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church Cemetery, 9989 S. State Road 9, Columbia City.
