Barbara Jean Magers

Barbara Jean Magers, 84, of Columbia City and formerly of Marion, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor. Born June 9, 1934 in Grant County, she was the daughter of Francis and Martha Gertrude (Stevenson) Bartow.

She grew up and lived in Grant County most of her life. In 2016, Barb moved to Columbia City due to her declining health. She graduated from Van Buren High School and worked over 30 years for RCA in Marion, retiring in the early 1990's. She enjoyed going to dinner, shopping and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Danny Magers and David Magers; sister, Mary E. Loving; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Francis Glen Bartow.

A funeral service will be 12 noon on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City with visitation one-hour prior. Barb will be laid to rest beside her parents at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward Barb's final expenses, I.C.O.
