Barbara Anne Miller

Barbara Anne Miller, age 95, of Albion, IN, passed away on Thursday September 28, 2023, at her residence.  Born on February 10, 1928, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Walter and Vera (Andrews) Crampton.

Barbara attended Columbia City High School and graduated with the Class of 1946.  On April 17, 1948, she married James C. Miller in Muncie.  They lived in Monticello, IN, for 28 years before moving to Whitley County in 1993.  Barbara worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Indiana Veterans Hospital for 17 years until her retirement.  She also worked as a float nurse in Columbia City and surrounding areas for several years.

Barbara was a member of Tri-Lakes Baptist Church and was a life member and past Matron of the White County Crystal Chapter #165 Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed being at the lakes, her Persian show cat, and adding to her extensive Peggy Nisbet doll collection.

Survivors include her children James (Karla) Miller of Drummonds, TN and Leona Amick of Brookston, IN;       4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; siblings Lucinda (Bruce) Rex of Columbia City and John W. Crampton of Goose Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James C. Miller, daughter Christina Miller, siblings Walter Crampton, Jr., Lloyd Crampton, and Richard Crampton.

A family memorial service will be held at Cindy Rex’s home on October 21, 2023.

Burial in Grandview Cemetery, Lafayette, IN.
