Darlene K. Foote

Darlene K. Foote, age 66, of South Whitley, IN, passed away at 9:50 am on Friday June 9, 2023, at her residence.  Born on July 30, 1956, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Jerry and Stella (Hummel) Steigerwald.

Darlene attended Churubusco High School and resided in South Whitley since 2011.  She worked as a housekeeper, Magic Wand, and PTG, throughout her working career.  On August 9, 1996, Darlene married Mark S. Foote in Columbia City.  She attended Tri-Lakes Baptist Church and also enjoyed drawing, reading, writing, cooking great meals, and making lots of jokes.

Survivors include her husband Mark Foote of South Whitley; children Amy Treece of South Whitley and Todd Steigerwald of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Lilly Gawthrop, Corbin Copeland, Drake Hammons, and Zoey Steigerwald; siblings Susan (Bob) Agler of Columbia City, William “Bill” (Whisper) Steigerwald of South Whitley, and Jerry Steigerwald, Jr. of Tri-Lakes; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gregory Treece, Jr., and sister Evelyn Noe.

Friends may call on Tuesday June 13, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

A graveside service for Darlene will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday June 14, 2023, at Nolt Cemetery, Columbia City.

Memorial contributions in memory of Darlene may be made to American Heart Association.
