Jerry R. Pulver

January 9, 1935 — January 3, 2024

Jerry R. Pulver, age 88, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 4:40 pm on Wednesday January 3, 2024, at The Waters of Columbia City.  Born on January 9, 1935, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Carl and Beulah (Garman) Pulver.

Jerry attended Leo High School.  On July 3, 1954, he married Vonda Cohee in Fort Wayne.  Jerry worked for Cummins, Fort Wayne, as a Diesel mechanic for 37 years until his retirement in 1999.  He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles #1906 and VFW Post #5582, Columbia City.  Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years, Vonda Pulver of Columbia City; children Michael (Sandra) Pulver, Pamela (Dallas) Lay, both of Columbia City, and Bruce Pulver of South Whitley; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Carl Pulver, George (Lela) Pulver, and Raymond (Janice) Pulver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Velma Minnick, Joan Craig, Carl Pulver, and Raymond Pulver.

Friends may call on Monday January 8, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 pm at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

There will be no funeral service, in accordance with the wishes of Jerry.

Memorial contributions in memory of Jerry may be made to Parkview Hospice or Whitley County Humane Society.
