Mack Pratt, 78, of Pierceton, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at his home with family by his side. Born February 2, 1943 in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of Malcolm Pratt and Helen (Clemons) Watkins.
Growing up in Hazard, Mack loved the outdoors and played football in school. On February 9, 1963, he married Shirley Mae Garrett in Hazard. They welcomed their first child into their hearts in home before a career opportunity moved them to Ohio where their two sons were born. The family then moved to Indiana and in 1970 moved to Whitley County to join other family members who had also moved there prior. It was there where their youngest daughter was born. For over 30 years, Mack worked at LML Pontoon in Columbia City and after they closed, he worked at JC Pontoon in North Webster until he retired in 2010.
Family meant everything to Mack and he loved being with them all. He was passionate, kind, always had a smile on his face and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially at Halloween time! He found peace, relaxation and joy while being out in the mountains, hiking, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed dirt track racing, going bowling, going to the zoo, hunting for change on the ground, and was an avid golfer. Even though he spent many years living in Indiana, Mack was a University of Kentucky basketball fan.
Mack is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Pratt; daughters, Sandy (George) Dockery and Sharon Hoover; sons, Mack (Sheila) Pratt Jr. and Jerry Pratt; sisters, Barb Baker and Kay (Richard) Rebman; brothers, Kenny Pratt, Benny (Sandy) Pratt, George Watkins, David Watkins, Robert (Lisa) Watkins and Gilbert Watkins; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Brooks.
