Patricia Lee Loe, 88, of Columbia City, Indiana, entered the gates of heaven on the 25th of April, 2025 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born June 28, 1936, in Columbia City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rozzie (Bentz) Reeg.
A lifelong resident of Whitley County, Pat graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1955. On January 24, 1959, she married Larry J Loe and quit her first job at Blue Bell where she had worked for five years, they had five children. They lived in CA, OK, and AZ for a few years and then made their home west of Larwill in 1976. After many years of being a homemaker and babysitter for families, the marriage dissolved, and Pat joined the workforce.
Being a hard worker, she became a CNA in 1983. For 10 years, she worked at the Oaks and finished her career at Renaissance Village when she retired at the age of 82 due to her declining health. Very active in the community she never met a stranger she couldn’t talk to and could always be found at any local event.
Pat was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Larwill Wesleyan Church, Red Hat Society, Larwill Lions Club, Whitley County Homemakers & 4-H, Herb Club, Salvation Army, and was very active at the Woodland Senior Center where she held positions on the board.
She enjoyed bus trips with the Senior Center, dominoes, collecting tea pots and pink depression dishes, selling Avon and Tupperware, watching I Love Lucy, and key lime pie.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Angela (Jack Lucero) Vallely; son, LaRoy (Joanne) Loe; daughter, Latricia Banuelos. six grandchildren, Brooke Dennis, Amber (Scott) Walker, Courtney (Travis) Schwarzbach, Makaylee Banuelos, Callee Banuelos, and Garrett Banuelos and six great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and father of her children, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Valerie Loe; son, Charles Loe. Arthur Roberts with whom she shared a special relationship with for more than 10 years; brothers, Homer Reeg, Gene Reeg and Dale Reeg, sisters, Sylvia Bentz, Ester Elliott, and Oma Tennett.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Parkview Hospice nurses and aides for their love and kindness during this transition, without them, it would not have been possible for Pat to stay in the comfort of home and surrounded by those who love her. A special thank you to her longest caretakers, Bradley, nurse Danielle and aide, Claudia. Your love and special care of mom did not go unnoticed.
Visitation will be Monday May 12, 2025, from 3:00-7:00 pm at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday May 13, 2025, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Beers officiating.
Burial will take place in Nolt Cemetery, Columbia City, where she will be laid to rest beside her daughter Valerie.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Pat to the Whitley County 4-H or the Woodland Senior Center.
