Peggy Bower

Peggy Bower, 76, formerly of Plymouth, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Mason Health Care Center, Warsaw. Born January 10, 1943 in Sturgis, Mich., she was the daughter of Harlo J. and Mable Lenora (Smith) Greenawalt.

Peggy has spent most of her life in Whitley County. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1961. She had worked at Blue Bell before they closed the doors at their Columbia City factory and worked at Essex/ United Technology as an Assembler and Product Operator for 18 years. Peggy was a former member of Columbia City Church of the Nazarene. She loved to cheer for the Fort Wayne Komets hockey team, IU Basketball, going on bus tour trips and anything that was the color purple.

Survivors include her daughters, JoElla (Dean) Kincaid, of Columbia City and Melody Guerin; and grandson, Zachary Kincaid of Columbia City. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Wayne Bower.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday May 24, 2019 at Oak Park Cemetery, Ligonier with Pastor Dave Staedtler of Community Bible Church officiating.
