Phyllis Ann Wheeler

Phyllis Ann Wheeler, age 66 of Larwill, IN, passed away at 7:53 pm on Sunday September 10, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.  Born on May 6, 1957, in Evansville, IN, she was the daughter of Franklin W. and Bernice (Fetter) Berg.

Phyllis attended Warsaw High School and graduated with the Class of 1975.  On July 7, 1979, she married the love of her life Kim Wheeler at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.  Phyllis was a homemaker and was the best Nana a family could ask for.  She enjoyed woodworking, golf carting, spending time with her grandchildren, along with just being silly and having fun.

Survivors include her husband Kim Wheeler of Larwill; children Crystal (Chad) Leighty, Nathan (Melena) Wheeler, and April (Travis) Clear, all of Columbia City; grandchildren Cayden Leighty, Vyenna Wheeler, Camarie Leighty, Izabella Wheeler, Zyra Wheeler, Octavia Wheeler, and Callie Clear; siblings Steve (Christi) Berg of Warsaw, Carol (Tony) Staley of South Bend, David (Nicole) Berg of Fort Wayne, Sarah (Dennis) Robinson of Warsaw, and Frank (Janet) Berg of Fishers; and her beloved dog Hank.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws Harold and Darlene Wheeler.

Friends may call on Thursday September 14, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held at 10:00 am on Friday September 15, 2023, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
