Ray M. Gordon

Raymond M. Gordon, 86, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Miller's at Oak Pointe. Born May 14, 1933 in Alexandria, he was the son of Paul R. and Florence Elizabeth (Lamerton) Gordon.

He played on the Hamilton High School basketball team and graduated with the Class of 1951. Ray went on to serve in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany at the Fulda Gap. He retired after 45 years with GTE/Verizon in 1995. On December 28, 1974 he married Linda Flickinger. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1568 and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Ray was a former member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Gordon; son, Shaun Paul (Lowell) Gordon; grandchildren, Waylon and Campbell; and brother, Gene Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Martha Baysinger.
