Rita K. Shelton

Rita K. Shelton, 66, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 peacefully at her home. Born February 6, 1952 in Huntington, she was the daughter of Willis J. Sims and Geraldine F. (Cunningham) Sims.

She was a lifelong resident of Whitley County, attending South Whitley High School. She worked at C.F. Goma, Dana Weatherhead and retired from The Oaks. She had been a member of the Eagles.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheri Shelton Leazier, of Columbia City; son, Dan (Kristen) Shelton, of Bedford Va.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Wilmot and Francis Adams; and brothers, Chet, Dave and Tim Sims. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry and Bill Sims and sister, Phyllis Stayer.
