Roger E. Fisher

Roger E. Fisher, 80, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away at 3:03 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital. Born August 1, 1938 in Churubusco, he was the son of Charles B. and Isla (Oldham) Fisher.

He graduated from Southport High School Class of 1956, served in the U.S. Army for 25 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He moved back to Whitley County in 1979. He worked at the State Highway Dept. for 9 years, retiring in August, 2003 and also at Goodwill for 6 years. On September 24, 1960 he married Evelyn May at Morgantown, West Virginia. He was a member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church and the Columbia City V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Fisher; daughters, Lisa (Marvin) Rossiter, of Larwill and Theresa (Mark) Kellam, of Rustburg, Va.; sons, Charles (Lisa) Fisher, of Adairsville, Georgia, Dennis (Patty) Fisher, of Parkton, North Carolina and Roger Jr. (Tammy) Fisher, of Northport, Alabama; sister, Margaret Whittington, of Indianapolis; brother, Dennis (Sue) Fisher, of Churubusco; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and was expecting two more. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale Fisher; and brothers, Gene Whittington and Dale (Carol) Whittington; and sister, Lois Brown.
