Sandra J. White, 80, formerly of Springfield, Massachusetts passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her home in Columbia City, Indiana surrounded by her loving family. Born May 1, 1937 in Springfield, she was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Helen A. (Slicer) Learned. She was the oldest of 16 children.

She spent 79 years of her life in Springfield and moved to be closer to her children. Sandy graduated from Trade High School and while growing up, she was involved in the drum corps and it was during these early years that she met her future husband, Douglas White. The two would go on to be married on November 29, 1957 in Westfield.

She spent over 30 years working for Milton Bradley and retired from their R&D department and would also go on to retire from Big Y Foods in their deli department. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was a lifelong member of Marksmen Drum and Bugle Corp. Sandy loved life and enjoyed traveling, going to theaters and casinos and was a hockey fan, holding season tickets of the Springfield Falcon's for several years.

Survivors include daughters, Sharon Bliss, Theresa "T" (Mark) DuBois, and Arline White, all of Columbia City; son, Patrick White, of Columbia City; grandchildren, Brittany White and Audrey DuBois; and seven siblings, Charles (Lorraine) Learned, of Gibsonville, N.C., Sheila Stanley, of Chicopee, Mass., Richard (David) Learned, of Wales, Mass., John Learned, of Winooski, Vt., Donald (Sherry) Learned, of Agawam, Mass., Shirley (Rick) Flebotte, of Ludlow, Mass. and Melody Taylor, of Guilford, Vt. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Benjamin Jr., Robert, David and James Learned; and sisters, Janice Benware, Ann Burroughs, Rosemary Dupont and Karen Burroughs.

Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield, Mass. Mass of Christian burial will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Patricks Church, 1900 Allen St., Springfield, Mass. She will be laid to rest beside her husband of 58 years at St. Aloysius Cemetery. A celebration of her life will also take place from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the American Legion Post 98, Columbia City.
