Wanda F. Murphy

Wanda F. Murphy, age 91, of Churubusco, IN, passed away at 2:58 pm on Wednesday May 1, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne.  Born on March 10, 1933, in Noble County, she was the daughter of C. Fred and Ruth J. (Wineland) Stump.

Wanda attended Columbia City High School and graduated with the Class of 1951.  On July 9, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart George C. Murphy in South Whitley.

Wanda worked for Magnavox and Diversitech, Inc. in Columbia City and Fashion Stitch in Urbana, Ohio.  She was a member of Big Lake Church of God, Columbia City.

She enjoyed sudoku, crossword puzzles, crocheting, cooking family favorites, baking wonderful bread, and playing the organ.

Survivors include her children Debra Jamerson of Churubusco and Michael (Rose) Murphy of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Linda Murphy of Brandenburg, KY; sister Carol Hinton of Fort Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Steven Murphy, husband of 68 years George Murphy, grandson Scot Murphy, and siblings Annadell Derba, Dorma Jean Hull, Bonnie Blaire, Brenda Rock, and Dick Stump.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday May 9, 2024, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Thorn Cemetery, Ormas.
