Benjamin R. Shelton

Benjamin R. Shelton, Jr. age 66 of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Friday March 3, 2023, at Glenbrook Health & Rehabilitation Center, Fort Wayne.  Born on May 18, 1956, he was the son of Robert and Oweda Jo (Brown) Shelton.

Benjamin attended school for the blind growing up in Virginia.  The oldest of three boys, his brothers were able to teach Benjamin how to ride a bike, despite his visual disability.  Benjamin loved listening to music, Star Trek, and books on tape.  He also played the piano and keyboard frequently with the church choir, in addition to weddings and funerals from time to time.

Survivors include his wife Victoria Shelton, brother Carl Shelton, stepdaughter Maria Runyan, niece Melissa (Shelton) Rhea, and grandnephew Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Nicholas Shelton.

Private burial in Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.
