Obituary

Dennis K. Thompson, 66, of Columbia City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at his home. Born September 2, 1956 in Columbia City, he was the son of Jack Thompson and Alta (Myers) Miller.

A lifelong resident of Whitley and Noble Counties, Dennis attended Columbia City Joint High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had worked for various local factory's, enjoyed riding motorcycles and guitars.  

Dennis is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Renee Kyler; sister and brother-in-law, Deb and Rick Reid; and step-daughter, Marla Hart. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack L. Thompson in 2012; mother, Alta M. Miller in 2008; step-mother, Betsy R. Thompson in 2021; and half-brother, Bill Thompson in 2019.  
 
A graveside service will be at 3 pm Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 7900 W. 700 N., Larwill, where he will be laid to rest beside his mom. Military honors will be rendered by the Whitley County Korean War Veteran’s Honor Guard  Arrangements with DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
