Elnora "Ellie" Lewellyn

Elnora "Ellie" J. Lewellyn, 83, of Ossian, Indiana and formerly of Blue Lake in Churubusco, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at her home. Born June 8, 1939 in Noble County, she was the daughter of Victor and Erma (Fought) Buckles.

She attended Columbia City High School. On August 5, 1972, Ellie married Howard Lewellyn and had lived in 4 homes on Blue Lake before moving to Ossian in the early 2000's. She worked for Dana for 37 years, retiring with a clock number of 1 in 1999. Ellie loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, traveling and taking an occasional trip to the casino to gamble. She was caring, reasonable but was not afraid to let you know what she thought instead of what you wanted to hear.

Ellie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Howard Lewellyn, daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Terry Rush of Ossian; grandchildren, Lisa (Chad) Greer, TJ (Lisa Williams) Rush; great-grandchildren, Zoë, Stephen, Sajourna, Josh and Nikki; and sisters, Carolyn Furnas, Janet Coker and Barbara McCullough, all of Columbia City. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Wayne Gipson in 2002; and twin infant sons, Larry Lee Gipson, Garry Dee Gipson.

Visitation will be 12 to 1:45 pm, Saturday, February 18, 2023 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will begin at 2 pm.
