John E. Rock

John E. Rock, age 78, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away at 8:42 pm on Friday March 10, 2017 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born on April10, 1938 in Allen County, he was the foster son of David Peter and Helen Teresa (Wolf) Rock.

John attended local schools and graduated from Coesse High School with the Class of 1956. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

On February 10, 1968 John married Brenda Stump at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church. He worked as a supervisor at the Dana Corporation for over 30 years until his retirement in 1996.

John was a former member of Meadow Park Church of God in Columbus, OH for many years and recently attended Central Christian Church in Huntington.

John was a DIY extraordinaire and worked on a multitude of different projects. He also had a great love for dogs and rescue fostered Malamutes.

Survivors include his loving wife Brenda Rock of Fort Wayne; children Keli (Casey) Raiford of Odenton, MD and Jason Rock of Toledo, OH; 2 grandchildren Aiden and Jacob Rock of Columbus,OH.

A memorial service for John will be held at 11:00 am Saturday March 18, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a LifeStory Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with calling one hour prior. Memorial contributions in memory of John may be made to Visitng Nurse and Hospice Home.
