Max E. Felger

March 5, 1950 — February 14, 2023

Columbia City

Max E. Felger, 72, of rural Allen County, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Born March 5, 1950 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Forest and MaryJane (Scott) Felger.

Max graduated from Arcola High School with the Class of 1968 and attended Fort Wayne Bible College. On June 6, 1970, he married Linda L. Zurbrugg. In May of 2017, Max retired as a Site Engineer for Bastian Solutions. One to come up with solutions and be a problem solver, he had started in sales but wanted to see the projects through to completion. Even after retiring, Max still helped with consulting work to lend his expertise. He and Linda had been members for over 30 years at Woodburn Missionary Church and currently at Living Hope Missionary Church (formerly Dunfee Missionary Church). Max had been active and involved with the churches, was honored to be a leader, taught Sunday School classes, and after attending an Israel trip, he helped host and organize several more trips for others to enjoy.

Being outdoors brought peace to Max.  He was a hard worker who enjoyed cutting and splitting wood, farming, gardening, and tending to his flowers. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing golf.  He was nurturing, loved children, and helping getting things resolved.

Max is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Felger; son, Tim Felger, grandchildren, Jacen Felger, Tarna Felger, Jaidyn Felger, and their mother, Heidi Johannsen; brothers, Charles (Melody) Felger, Mark (Ann) Felger and Larry (Bonnie) Habegger; sisters, Ruth Ann (Gray) Cox and MaryJane (Fred "Fritz") Whitehurst; and brother-in-law, Charley White. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marjorie Felger; and sister, Ruth White.
