Melody A. Semler

Melody A. Semler, 75, of North Manchester, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at her home. Born June 15, 1947 in Muncie, she was the daughter of Halbert “Gene” and Alice Mae (Swallow) Eley.

Growing up in Muncie, Melody graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1965 and had retired from Dana. Melody was an avid reader, she enjoyed playing word games, bingo, Yahtzee and Euchre on her tablet. Overall though, family meant the most to her.

Melody was a rock to her family. She may have had an ornery side to her, but she was wise and was the most loving person you could have the pleasure to meet. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Minniear; son, Shane Minniear; sisters, Bonnie Wagner, Deena (Randy) Boylan and Vickie Smith; grandchildren, Ashley (Joey) Hogle, Jennifer Garner, Matthew (Bri) Minniear, Dustin “Bear” Minniear and Cade Minniear; and 13 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pam Adkins; brothers-in-law, Butch Smith and Bob Wagner; and nephew, Monte Terrell.

To celebrate Melody’s life lived, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 to 7 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
