Rebecca L. Woodward, 66, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away Sunday morning, May 28, 2017 at her home. Born December 10, 1950 in Marion, she was the daughter of Alvin Arthur and Janis (Shaw) Gillespie.

Rebecca graduated from Marion High School with the Class of 1969. She had worked at Lincoln National and Napa in Ft. Wayne before becoming a homemaker, mom and grandma. With a fun loving spirit, she welcomed everyone and anyone. She always liked to joke around, smile and have everyone around her laughing and having a great time. She enjoyed painting, shopping, being outside and gardening.

Survivors include her daughter, Landis Adkins, of Columbia City; son, Matt (Christy) Woodward, of Columbia City; mother, Janis Gillespie, of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Easton Adkins, Madison Woodward, Olivia Woodward, Lauren Adkins and Marshall Woodward; sisters, Pamela (Brad) Ash, of Churubusco and Lois (Ron) Widerberg, of Galesberg, Mich.; brothers, Alvin (Mary) Gillespie, of Fort Wayne and Ron Gillespie, of Arizona; and former husband, Tom Woodward, of Larwill. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Gillespie.

Visitation is 11-12:45 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with her funeral services starting at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Troy Presbyterian Cemetery.
