TIMOTHY SPILLERS

March 15, 1961 — September 18, 2010

Timothy George Spillers, age 49, of Columbia City, IN died at 7:13 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan in Ludington, MI after a drowning accident. He was born on March 15, 1961 in Jackson, MI to James Vernet and Jacqueline Ann (Wright) Spillers.
He was raised in Michigan, moving to Fort Wayne in 1979 and then moved to Whitley County in 1981. He graduated from Jackson High School, Jackson, MI with the Class of 1979. He was married on June 12, 1982 at the Dunfee Missionary Church to Sally A. Geiger. He attended ITT College graduating with the Class of 1981, receiving an Associate Degree in Electronics and an additional certification in HVAC. He first worked at Triad Utrad, Huntington from 1981-1984, at Magnavox Whitley County from 1984-1989, ITT Aerospace from 1989-1999 and Bradford Scott, Fort Wayne from 1999-2003 and lastly he is currently employed with Foyle Plumbing and Heating as an HVAC Technician for the past 7 years. He was a member of ABATE of Indiana, Inc. specializing in motorcycle safety and he also held his private pilots license.
Survivors include his wife Sally Spillers, Columbia City; 2 daughters, Megan Sue and Danielle Dani Elizabeth Spillers both of Columbia City; parents, James and Jacqueline Spillers, Comstock Park, MI, sister, Lesa (Al) Rose, Jackson, MI,1 nephew and 2 nieces, numerous aunts and uncles, mother-in-law, Jo Ann Geiger, Columbia City and 1 sister-in-law, Catherine Katie Geiger, Columbia City. He is preceded in death by 1 brother, Kim Daniel Spillers, sister-in-law, Edwina Winnie Geiger, maternal and paternal grandparents and father-in-law, Phil Geiger.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Blanchard of the Anthony Wayne First Church of God, Fort Wayne officiating. Memorial bequests may be given in Mr. Spillers' memory of Whitley County Special Olympics or Dewart Lake Fireworks Fund. Envelopes will be available through the funeral home.
